General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)(e) – processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller.
Where special category data is processed, we rely on Article 9(2)(a) the data subject has given explicit consent.
How do we collect information from you
Personal data is provided online via the council's website when adding a public event, club or organisation for example, fetes, coffee mornings and holiday activities.
Categories of information collected
Name, email address and telephone number.
How we use the information provided
The information is collected to enable us to contact you should we have any questions regarding an event that you have added.

Communications and marketing teams and IT teams and commissioning.
Who we may share your information with
Your personal information is not shared with any third parties and is not accessible via the public website.
How long we store your information
We store your personal data on events added for up to 90 days after the event has finished, it is then deleted from our system.
We will list your club, charity or group information for up to 12 months. You will receive a reminder 11 months after the date of publication to review and confirm your content to remain on the list. If we do not hear from you your entry will be deleted from the system.
You can request it to be removed at any point by emailing website@rbwm.gov.uk.
