Reopening of Royal Borough Libraries from Monday 12 April 2021
We look forward to welcoming you back to our libraries as restrictions ease with Maidenhead and Windsor reopening for browsing on Monday 12 April.
This will be followed with:
- Ascot Library: Monday 19 April.
- Cookham and Dedworth libraries: Monday 26 April.
- Cox Green Library: Tuesday 27 April.
- Boyn Grove, Datchet, Eton Wick, Old Windsor and Sunninghill libraries: Tuesday 4 May.
We aim to reopen the Container Library as soon as we can during June, further updates will be posted once arrangements are confirmed.
We will be offering browsing, bookable computer access for one session per day and bookable study space at Maidenhead and Windsor libraries.
All our libraries will have slightly different opening hours from the previous ones, full details of all opening times can be found on our Find a Library pages.
You can continue to reserve items on our library catalogue in advance, and collect them from Maidenhead Library or Windsor Library when you are notified. You will only be able to issue items using our self service kiosks. As per government guidelines, you will need to wear a face covering while you are in our libraries and sanitise your hands on entering.
Children's Book Packs
You can request pre-selected picture, board or early reader book packs for children, and will be notified when they are ready to collect.
Mobile Library service
If you are a regular Mobile library customer a member of the mobile library team will continue to be in touch with you to discuss your requirements.
Books will be delivered to your normal stop and you will be able to collect your books from outside the Mobile Library to ensure social distancing.
Please wait to hear from the library.
Home Library service
The Home library service is continuing to operate. If you are already a housebound customer your library volunteer will make contact with you to agree a safe way to deliver books to you.
We are offering one-to-one basic digital support over the telephone to those residents and customers who are unable to leave their homes. We can help you access library and council services, eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eComics as well as online reference resources. We can also help you with your devices.
Please contact Digital.Support@RBWM.gov.uk or call 01628 796969 or 01753 743940 if you need telephone support.
