Maidenhead Library and Windsor Library open for browsing

You can now come into Maidenhead Library and Windsor Library to browse the shelves to choose something to read and borrow books for yourself using our self service kiosks.

Maidenhead Library will be open for the following times:

  • Monday 8am - 7pm
  • Tuesday 9am - 5pm
  • Wednesday 10am - 5pm
  • Thursday 8am - 7pm
  • Friday 9am - 5pm
  • Saturday 9am - 4pm

Windsor Library will be open the following times: 

  • Monday 9.30am - 5pm
  • Tuesday 10am - 7pm
  • Wednesday 10am - 5pm
  • Thursday 9.30am - 5pm
  • Friday 9.30am - 5pm
  • Saturday 10am - 4pm

Please be aware that these are temporary opening hours and will be adjusted according to demand. We will notify you in advance if any changes are made.

You can continue to reserve items on our library catalogue in advance, and collect them from Maidenhead or Windsor libraries when you are notified.

You can also continue to use Select and Deliver to pick up your reservations from 13 locations across the borough, you will be notified when to visit your pick up location.

As per government guidelines, you will need to wear a face covering while you are in our libraries and sanitise your hands on entering. You will also need to check in using the NHS COVID-19 app when you enter the building, or provide contact details if you don't have the app.

Maidenhead Library and Windsor Library open for computer use

We are pleased to announce that public computers are available to use at Maidenhead Library and Windsor Library.

To maintain social distancing, only a limited number of computers are available and slots are for a maximum of 45 minutes per day to allow for cleaning between sessions. You will only be able to book one slot per day.

To ensure availability you must pre-book your computer session and have received confirmation of your booking before coming to the library. You will need your library card number and to offer up to two booking slot options.

Maidenhead Library timeslots are:

  • 8am - 8.45am (Monday and Thursday only)
  • 9am - 9.45am (excluding Wednesday)
  • 10am - 10.45am
  • 11am - 11.45am
  • midday - 12.45pm
  • 1pm - 1.45pm
  • 2pm - 2.45pm
  • 3pm - 3.45pm
  • 4pm - 4.45pm (excluding Saturday)
  • 5pm - 5.45pm (Monday and Thursday only)
  • 6pm - 6.45pm (Monday and Thursday only)

Mobile Library service 

This service resumed week commencing Monday 6 July. If you are a regular Mobile Library customer a member of the mobile library team will be in touch with you to discuss your reading requirements.

Books will be delivered to your normal stop and you will be able to collect your books from outside the Mobile Library to ensure social distancing. Please wait to hear from the library.

Home Library service 

If you are already a housebound customer your library volunteer will make contact with you to agree a safe way to deliver books to you.

Select and Deliver service

You have the opportunity to select items you would like to read and staff will make contact with you when they are ready for collection from one of 13 locations around the borough.
