Keeping cool in hot weather

Many of us enjoy hot weather but when it is too hot for too long there can be serious health consequences. The very young, elderly and seriously ill are the groups who are particularly at-risk of health problems in particularly hot spells.

If there is anyone you know who might be at risk, for example, an older person living on their own, make sure they know what to do to stay cool and are well stocked with food and medications. You can find heatwave health advice on NHS Choices website.

If you are worried about your health or that of somebody you know, ring NHS 111.

Further information about looking after yourself and others during a heatwave can be found on the GOV.UK website.
