Disapplication of Designated Premises Supervisor

Table of Contents

It is now possible for community, church and village halls to apply to remove the mandatory conditions under Section 19(2) and (3) of the Licensing Act 2003 to have a Designated Premises Supervisor (DPS).

This no longer requires a personal licence holder to authorise every supply of alcohol and replaces it with an alternative licence condition under Section 19(4) which places the responsibility for the sale of alcohol with the management committee, thus removing some of the associated burdens that the current conditions place on volunteers.

Please read the guidance to applicants on replacing the requirement to have a DPS with a management committee before completing and submitting the application form for the mandatory alcohol condition under the Licensing Act 2003 requiring a DPS in respect of a premises licence to be disapplied.
