Golden Ball Lane - Experimental Traffic Order - 'Prohibition of Motor Vehicles'

The Council has received a number of complaints from local residents regarding the number, and speed, of vehicles that are using Golden Ball Lane as a shortcut between the A308 Marlow Road and Winter Hill Road. A width restriction was introduced in 2010, which has reduced the number of large vehicles, but issues are still being experienced due to smaller vehicles.

The Council is therefore proposing to implement an Experimental Traffic Order which will impose a ‘Prohibition of Motor Vehicles’ restriction in Golden Ball Lane, near to the junction with the A308 Marlow Road, to replace the current width restriction. The Experimental Order will last for a maximum of 18 months and will allow the Council to monitor the effects of the restriction. The Order will be reviewed after a period of 6 months and, in consultation with residents, a decision will then be made as to whether the Experimental Order should be made permanent. The restriction will be enforced by signage and temporary barriers, allowing access for pedestrians, horses, and cyclists. Access for vehicles will be maintained from Winter Hill Road.
