At Work

Reducing Waste At Work
  • Use recycled paper whenever possible in printers, photocopiers and for general office use.
  • Don't waste paper :
    • use electronic mail
    • double side photocopying
    • try to use less by circulating information rather than giving everyone a separate copy
    • use the back of old documents for notepads
  • Ensure any waste paper created is sent to be recycled. You will be amazed at how much paper waste is produced in the office and it is a shame to simply throw it away.
  • Buy refillable or remanufactured toner cartridges for printers and photocopiers and ensure all used ones are returned for refilling or recycling.
  • Try to adopt an environmental purchasing policy.
  • Use envelope 'reuse' labels rather than buying new envelopes.
  • Have plastic cups from vending machines collected for recycling. Save-a-Cup provides an almost nationwide service.
