Sign up for the new low-cost green waste collection service

On 3 November 2008 the Royal Borough introduced a brand new, regular and convenient service that will take away your garden waste every two weeks.

For a subscription of just £29 a year, the service - which will be in addition to the normal weekly waste and recycling collections - will be a blessing for gardeners who want to dispose of their grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, twigs, dead flowers, weeds and fallen leaves in a green and sustainable way.

Subscribers will be provided with a roomy 240-litre green wheelie bin which will be collected and emptied every fortnight (excluding Christmas and New Year).

And if you sign up for two years you will benefit from a discount which means you pay just £53 instead of the full rate of £58.

Initially Veolia, the council's waste contractors, can only cater for up to 3,500 homes but if there is sufficient further demand the council will expand the service to cater for even more residents. So sign up as soon as possible!
