Subscribed Garden Waste - Terms and Conditions
- The scheme year(s) run(s) from the first scheduled collection during the first full calendar week of the month following your subscription payment. For payments received after the 25th day of the month, collections will not commence until the first scheduled collection during the first full calendar week of the second month after payment has been made. All subsequent collections will be undertaken fortnightly in accordance with the published schedule for your area.
- Green waste will be collected fortnightly all year round with the exception of two weeks over the Christmas and New Year Period.
- Bank holidays: The Green Waste Service will roll forward one day, for example: Monday will be collected on a Tuesday.
- The green waste bin must be left at the boundary of the preoperty, adjacent to the public highway, or a collection point agreed by the supervisor, by 7am on the day of collection as collection times may vary.
- If the bin is not presented by this time the collection crew will not return until the next scheduled collection day.
- Do not overfill the bin. If it is too heavy for safe handling and it is not capable of being lifted safely by the vehicle, we will be unable to empty it. The driver's decision in respect of the safe operation will be final, subject to review by a supervisor.
- Green waste placed in the bin must be left loose and not contained in bags of any kind.
- Only green waste contained within the bin and with the lid closed will be taken.
- We do not accept side waste i.e. bags/boxes beside the bin or balanced on the lid.
- No refunds will be given for early cancellation of your annual contract.
- We reserve the right to change your collection day subject to providing you with written notification.
- We reserve the right to refuse service once we have reached the optimum level of subscriptions or if your property is unsuitable for wheeled bin collections.
- The Green waste bin remains the property of RBWM.
- The customer shall pay the council's costs to replace stolen or damaged bins unless damaged by the Council's collection contractor.
- If you move address within RBWM you can transfer the bin. You need to notify us of any change of address. If you move out of RBWM the annual fee is non refundable.
- The container is to be used for the storage of green garden waste as described in the information leaflet.
- We reserve the right to amend the acceptance criteria at any time.
- If the green waste bin is contaminated with other household waste, the bin will be rejected for collection and tagged. You will need to remove the unnaceptable material before your next scheduled collection day.
- If we are asked to empty contaminated waste from a green waste bin, a payment of £25 will be charged.
