RecycleBank faqs

Revenue - £96,000 (revenue income). In addition there is approx. £900k capital expenditure for new bins (but these were required anyway to reduce the old twin box system that has reached the end of its useful life and has restricted capacity - therefore the purchase of new bins is not considered as part of the RecycleBank costs). There has also been £350k for retro-fitting of bin lifts and weigh cells on the collection vehicles - but these can be taken off and re-used on any future new fleet and have an estimated life of nine years. The capital costs are amortised (paid off) over approx. 10 years for the bins and nine years for the lifts etc.
