Community Weight Based Scheme

Community Scheme

A pioneering community scheme will make recycling rewards available to around 13,000 Royal Borough residents who, for various reasons, don't have access to a blue wheelie recycling bin.

When the full roll out of RecyeleBank launched in June, the council pledged that rewards for recycling would be made available to all local households and has been working with partners RecycleBank and Veolia Environmental Services to find a practical solution.

The new community scheme enables RecycleBank rewards to be made available to residents who don't have their own individual wheelie bin - including those who live in flats with communal recycling facilities, narrow streets which are inaccessible to refuse collection vehicles or older properties where there is not enough bin storage space

If you don't have your own wheelie bin the way you earn points will be slightly different to the scheme used for residents with their own wheelie bins. However, the end result is the same - rewards for your recycling which give you great money-saving offers and discounts that can be used at more than 100 local and national reward partners.

All you have to do is continue to recycle in the normal way and just tell RecycleBank that you are doing so - it's as simple as that. To make it really easy for you, and once you've activated your account, you can tell us you've recycled online at recyclebank.com/rbwm, by phone on 0844 409 9490*, or by an app on your Blackberry or iPhone.

Don't worry if you forget to tell RecycleBank you've recycled for one week - at www.recyclebank.com/rbwm and via the Blackberry and iPhone apps you can tell them that you've recycled in previous weeks so you don't miss out on valuable points.

Watch out for your RecycleBank pack which will be with you very shortly. It will tell you how to activate your RecycleBank account, how to report that you've recycled and, most importantly, how to choose your rewards.

*Calls are charged at 5p per minute from a UK landline. Mobile rates will vary.
