'P' of A to Z of Waste Disposal

Paint -
Unless another use for paint can be found around the house, eg a skirting board needs touching up, recycling paint is extremely difficult.
If there is a large enough quantity, local community groups or schools may be interested eg the local scout hut is being redecorated.
Paint should not be disposed of in liquid form and should never be poured down drains or into watercourses. Small quantities should be allowed to dry out or spread on to an absorbent, such as cat litter, and when dry put into the dustbin.
Where larger quantities are involved, such as a garage clear out , sealed cans should be taken to the Civic Amenity Site in Stafferton Way, Maidenhead and deposited in the secured chemical container.

Paper -
All mixed paper including newsprint, magazines, cardboard, telephone directories, books and junk mail can be recycled using the household recycling box.

Pesticides -
Householders with unwanted or unused garden chemicals should deposit them at the Civic Amenity Site in Stafferton Way, Maidenhead, where a secure chemical container is provided.

Plastic Bottles -
These can be recycled using the household recycling box.
