Slipway

The Windsor Leisure Centre Slipway is available to launch boats up to a maximum length of 6.7 metres (22ft).

The slipway is located immediately downstream of the Queen Elizabeth Bridge (which carries the Windsor Relief Road) on the south bank of the river Thames.  Upstream of the slipway is Boveney Lock (approx. 1 mile), and downstream is Romney Lock (approx. 1 mile).

Parking

Although trailer parking is available under the bridge, motor vehicles should be located in the pay and display car parks adjacent to the Centre where standard charges apply.

Customers wishing to park trailers or motor vehicles for longer periods should apply in writing to the Administration Officer at the Leisure Centre in advance, and a permit will be issued for the time required, with relevant charges.

At the bottom of the slipway there is a 150mm upstand/stop to reduce the risk of trailers passing beyond the end of the slipway.  During normal river conditions, the water depth over this upstand will be 850mm

All users are asked to be considerate of other river users when parking their trailers within the designated area, and in such a way as not to obstruct access for other boat trailers or users.

Licencing

All vessels (motor launches, canoes, dinghies etc) must be currently licenced with the Environment Agency - Navigation Department.  (contact telephone no. 0118 953 5650).

Vessels such as jet skis and wet bikes or other similar craft will not be registered, and are not permitted as they are deemed unsuitable for the River Thames.
