A further leaflet 'High hedges: complaining to the Council' is also available which explains what will happen if the Council get involved - using their powers in Part 8 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003. It summarises what complaints the Council can consider and how they will deal with them.
In dealing with any complaints the Council will follow the detailed guidance given by the DCLG in 'High hedges complaints: Prevention and Cure'.
All of the above publications, further background information and frequently asked questions can be viewed on the DCLG's website at www.odpm.gov.uk/treesandhedges, then click on 'High hedges' under 'Section contents'.
The current fee for the Council to consider a complaint is £550. The complaints form can be accessed by clicking on the link below. Guidance notes on completing the complaint form can be found at the bottom of the page.
