Freight

Essential access for service vehicles will be maintained, whilst protecting sensitive areas from freight traffic.

Appropriate routes will be identified for heavy vehicles and their movements restricted in sensitive areas.  There will be clear signing for freight traffic.

The Borough will work with representatives of freight operators to produce suitable solutions.

We propose to develop a Freight Quality Partnership for the Borough to ensure that we can provide satisfactory facilities for freight.  Discussion have been held with the Freight Transportation Association (FTA) to identify the best approach for improvements.  Please note our disclaimer.

We have found that the publications 'Urban Friendly Deliveries' and 'Delivering the Goods-Best Practise in Urban Distribution' published by the FTA to be extremely useful for developing our freight strategy.
