The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead has prepared a Best Practice Guide to help developers, businesses and other organisations wishing to develop a travel plan.
The guidance has been developed with reference to examples of best practice, both within the UK and abroad, and has been tailored to suit to the particular needs and circumstances of the area.
The guide outlines some of the main benefits of adopting a travel plan and identifies the circumstances in which a travel plan will be sought in relation to a planning application.
It includes a step-by-step guide to developing and implementing a travel plan, describing the research necessary to identify the issues and giving examples of the type of activities that may be considered as part of a Travel Plan strategy.
It is not the Council's aim to provide a definitive or comprehensive guide to Travel Plans. Instead, the Guide contains a list of references, which highlights potential sources of further information on a variety of relevant issues.
