The RBWM believes transparency is a key condition and driver for the delivery of council services. As a public funded organisation, the council has a duty to the residents that it serves to be transparent in its business operations and outcomes. We are always interested to know what information would be of interest to you.

- Assessment of Care Needs - Older People
To decide whether we can arrange and pay for services it is necessary to assess needs. The borough pays for services for older people, adults with a learning disability or with physical, sensory or mental health needs that restrict their ability to live independent lives. The assessment process ensures priority is given as fairly to people who are in the greatest need of support.
- Automatic Energy Reading
On 25th June 2009 the Council agreed to implement a rolling programme of installing automatic meter reading (AMR) in the main civic buildings as a means of driving down energy consumption and reducing costs. The AMR will measure carbon emissions and the costs resulting from the electricity and gas consumption at the chosen sites.
- Budget Monitoring Reports
Budget monitoring reports are submitted to Cabinet meetings every month and provide Members with an update on any significant budget issues within the service areas.
- Corporate Strategy
This Strategy provides a reference to ensure that residents, staff and partners are fully informed of the future aspirations and plans of the Royal Borough.
- Councillors' Allowances
To ensure that they are not financially penalised for carrying out their Council duties, Councillors receive from the Council an allowance or allowances. The allowances paid to Councillors are contained within the Council's Members Allowances Scheme.
- Councillor Budgets
A sum of £750 is available to each Member to award to local community initiatives or projects. This money can be pooled collectively with other Ward Members or adjoining Wards, and can be allocated to pretty much anything locally that helps the local area.

This report describes how the council has reset its default position to transparent - so that all information (save three key areas) is available to the public.
- Council Properties
Details of Commercial Property Portfolio and operational buildings. Locations are available by using our Maps On-Line facility. Commercial properties can be viewed from the maps on line page by selecting Council & Democracy located under 'Show Map Categories'. The commercial properties portfolio is the last icon on the displayed list.

- Deaths Intestate
Details of estates passed to treasury solicitor/council/solicitor of deceased due to no next of kin or suitable funeral arrangements identified.
- Departmental Organisational Charts
Departmental organisational charts including job titles, salary costs, salary bands and pay ratio.
- Equalities Data
The Equality Act 2010 places a requirement on public agencies to publish relevant equalities related information. Further work is currently being commissioned to assess the relevant equalities information that exists at a service level basis which will be released in due course.

- Freedom of Information Act - RBWM Publication Scheme
The Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FoIA) gives a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, including the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.
- Local Area Interactive Tool (LAIT)
The Department for Education (DfE) have developed the Local Area Interactive Tool (LAIT) that provides a huge amount of data on children and young people. It can be used to look at any local authority and compare our performance against the national average and our statistical neighbours. Where data is available for a number of years, it also shows trends.

- Payment to Suppliers
The attached reports list the payments to suppliers. Data published from April 2011 onwards contains spend where the charge to a specific cost centre is greater than or equal to £100. Publication of these lists forms part of the Council's commitment to be open and transparent with its residents.
- Pay and Benefits of Staff Earning over £50,000 per annum
Pay and benefits for staff earning over £50,000 are set by a group of Elected Members called the Employment Panel. Decisions are made by evaluating the content of each job using a set of nationally recognised criteria. Each job is then benchmarked against other national and local jobs before arriving at a specific salary, taking into account factors such as the competitiveness of the market for the role and the experience of the candidate.
- RecycleBank
Recycling is easier and more rewarding for every local household following the council's ground-breaking RecycleBank scheme. The concept is simple - the more you recycle the more rewards you earn.

- Safeguarding Adults Policy
Berkshire Safeguarding Adults Policy and Good Practice Guidance Manual 2011 has been developed by all 6 Berkshire Authorities in conjunction with the host organisation Tri-X and is fully operational across Berkshire.
