Supporting People Executive Summary
Vision for the Future - Towards 2009
The vision for Supporting People within the Royal Borough is to work with
statutory agencies, providers and voluntary groups to offer vulnerable people a
wide range of housing options, with housing related support funded by
Supporting People Grant. This will allow more people to live in the community
with greater independence.
The Supporting People Commissioning Body recognises and values the diversity of
the local population it serves. It aims to provide a range of accessible,
inclusive, high quality services that provide choice, independence and
empowerment. The needs of service users are central to the vision. It is
intended to use this opportunity to move away from service driven services to
one of user need driven development.
