Supporting People

Supporting People gives vulnerable people the help and support they need to live in their own home, in the areas they know.

Mission Statement:

'The Supporting People programme aims to ensure that there are a wide range of housing related support services for local vulnerable people. These are lower levels of support which do not amount to personal care. It is the aim of central government to enable local authorities and their partners to:

  • plan and commission housing related support services
  • administer the funding for these services
  • review and regulate the quality of such services

The Supporting People Five Year Strategy creates our vision for the future, a wide variety of high quality support services meeting the needs of local people.  The vision will evolve as we continuously evaluate and be imaginative about how services may be provided.  Throughout we will be listening to the views of service users as they ultimately determine and shape the vision.'
