The Core Strategy Group

Membership consists of representatives from registered local landlords, the National Probation Service (Thames Valley), Windsor Ascot and Maidenhead Primary Care Trust, the Youth Offending Team, Housing, Drug Action Team, Social Services and local voluntary groups.
The primary aim of this group is to drive the development of the five year strategy, examining current service provision, identifying gaps and exploring the potential for service development.  The ongoing objective will be to continuously re-examine the priorities laid out in the strategy and help the Commissioning Body to produce an annual plan.

The Inclusive Forum

The forum comprises representatives from support providers, voluntary agencies, Social Services staff and other interested parties.  Meeting bi-monthly the group is engaged in strategy consultation through workshops and specialist presentations.  Service providers who attend this forum also have representatives on the Core Strategy Group and are able to feed in their views at this point.  The forum is also useful to help co-ordinate service user consultation events.

Service User Consultation

The role of service users in shaping the services they receive is a key part of the strategic thinking and this is achieved in a number of ways:

Partnership Boards

These multi-agency forums have the advantage of representing the needs of a particular client group. Bringing together the views of those professionals operating the services and those who use them.

Service User Events

Separate events have been held for individual service user areas including; people with mental health problems, people with learning disabilities and older people with support needs.  These have allowed the opportunity for open discussion about how and what people would like to receive from their services.

Future events will be held to collect the thoughts and ideas from other client groups.

Focus Groups

As part of the service review process the Supporting People Team have engaged in wide consultation using questionnaires and small group discussions.  This presents an opportunity to monitor existing services as well as discussing future provision.
