My Care, My Choice for Unpaid Carers

If you are an unpaid Carer this is what My Care, My Choice will mean to you:

  • Tailoring support to people's individual needs and being part of the discussion about support both for yourself as a Carer and for the person being looked after
  • Not having to take on all the responsibility and all the management of care and support. The Royal Borough will ensure that Carers continue to be supported
  • Enabling Carers to maintain a life beyond their caring responsibilities. Carers should have their own needs assessed and have a choice about their own support
  • Ensuring that Carers and those they look after have access to information and advice to enable them to make informed decisions about their care and support
  • The support plan is flexible and can be adapted to changing needs and circumstances.
