Our vision for the Royal Borough is:
"through making personalisation a reality the Royal Borough will empower and support citizens to shape their own lives and the services they receive" Adult Plan 2008-2020. Royal Borough's full vision document for Adult Social Care.

My Care, My Choice is designed for people in need of social care in the community who:

  • Are elderly or frail
  • Have a sensory impairment
  • Have a physical disability
  • Have a mental health need
  • Have a learning disability
  • Have a dependency on drugs or alcohol
The Royal Borough does not allocate Personal Budgets to:
  • people who are assessed as requiring long-term residential or nursing care
  • people receiving after-care services under Section 117 of the Mental Health Act
  • people who have needs that must be met immediately
  • people who receive intermediate care services

Occupational Therapy equipment only and Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) only will continue to be supplied outside of self-directed support.
