Description: The East Berkshire eating disorder service offers specialised treatment for people living in East Berkshire. They offer a range of treatment options which include:

  • Individual therapies,
  • Group therapies,
  • Family therapy,
  • Health information including dietary and nutritional advice,
  • Day patient programmes,
  • Inpatient weight restoration (Ward 12 at Heatherwood Hospital).

The Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service (ages 12-18) is run from the Berkshire Adolescent Unit in Wokingham Hospital (out patients, day patients and in patients). Tel: 0118 949 5019.

You can access our services through: Men and women aged 18- 65 with a psychological or behavioural disturbance around food can be referred by their GP or local mental health professional in writing to the below address. Priority referral indicators are: BMI less than or equivalent to 16, rapid weight loss and or coexisting medical conditions.
