Community Mental Health Team for Older People

Age group served: Older people (75yrs+)
Service cover: Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead

It is a multi-disciplinary team comprising of community psychiatric nurses, social workers, consultant psychiatrists and additional psychology time.

The aim of the team is to provide:

  • assessments
  • treatment
  • monitoring and support
  • Case Management
  • Carers Assessments
  • Mental Health Act Assessments and referral onto day services.

They also offer a memory clinic for diagnosis and treatment.

Common conditions treated:

  • services are for people with severe and/or enduring mental health conditions;
  • anxiety if severe;
  • bipolar disorder (manic depression); depression if severe;
  • eating disorders;
  • obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD);
  • panic; personality disorders; phobias;
  • post traumatic stress disorder with referral to specialist service where required;
  • schizophrenia; serious self harm;
  • Dementia.
