Counselling Services

Counselling is a talking therapy which allows individuals to deal with specific life issues they are struggling with. Just talking to someone confidentially who is not a friend or family member can make all the difference. Counselling provides a regular time for those in distress to explore their feelings and talk about their problems. A counsellor should help you develop better ways of coping, allowing you to live the life you deserve.

Offers free counselling to clients primarily aged 12- 25 years, however will not turn anyone away. All the counsellors are volunteers and the service is a registered charity. Initial appointments are usually made 7-10 days after referral. All ages accepted.

Cruse MWS exists purely to help bereaved people and to enable anyone affected by death to understand their grief and cope with their loss. Our support is free, totally confidential and available to anyone - and we are here to help and to listen.

Relate is the UK's largest provider of relationship counselling and sex therapy. Relate offers a wide range of services for couples, families and individuals. They support people through all stages of their relationships and you can access the support on your own or with others, face-to-face, on the phone or on the internet. The Maidenhead branch service includes Relationship Counselling, Sex Therapy & Family Counselling.

Funding/Cost:
You will normally be expected to pay a fee. Relate Centre's are charities and don't aim to make a profit from the services they provide, the fee is to cover the cost of sessions. Relate Centre's offer subsidised counselling sessions.
Some Relate Counsellors work under license in private practice and set their own fees. Your Relate Centre or counsellor will let you know the costs of services.
