Learning Disability Day Services - Valuing People Now

Rights, Choice, Independence and Social Inclusion.

Valuing people sets out the four main principals for improving life changes of people with Learning Disabilities.

Rights:

People with a Learning Disability will be treated with respect and discrimination will be challenged.

Independence:

Promoting independence is a key aim of Valuing People rather than dependence.

Choice:

People with a Learning Disability should be given a real say in what happens in their lives including what they do in Day Opportunities Services.

Inclusion:

This means enabling people with Learning Disabilities to do ordinary things make use of mainstream services and be fully included.
