Interpreting and Translating

The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead subscribes to an over-the-phone interpretation service from the National Interpreting Service. This service forms a part of the Council's ongoing commitment to 'Diversity & Equality' and will assist us to provide quality services to customers and staff who speak limited or no English.

The service can be accessed from any telephone; no specialist equipment is required, although dual handset telephones are available at some locations. We are therefore able to interpret in a variety of settings, to deal with a wide range of interactions with service users.

Each department within Social Services is given the option to subscribe to the translation service. This decision is based on service user demand so if you believe you or someone you know would benefit for this service, please inform your point of contact within the directorate. To contact individual services, please look for individual service information within Social Care and Health or email social.services@RBWM.gov.uk.
