Home care is a 24-hour borough-wide, community based service, aiming to
provide quality care and support to frail, elderly and younger adults with
disabilities and their main carers. Consideration is given to
people's ethnic, cultural and individual needs, whilst respecting their
dignity, privacy and confidentiality.
The Home Care Service supports adult and elderly people, who are unable - through illness, disability mental health illness or frailty - to complete certain daily living tasks without assistance. Our objective is to enable service users to remain at home, supported by skilled, trained staff who motivate and encourage each person to reach and maintain their highest level of independence possible, according to their individual needs and abilities. We are committed to providing a service that responds to people's needs and offer users choice, flexibility and continuity of care. Working in partnership with users and carers, and our colleagues in Health, Housing and Voluntary Organisations, we strive to improve and modernise the service to meet the changing needs of the local community.
Please see Home Care Service Publications for our Service User Guide, Charges Leaflet and Statement of Purpose.
