The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Adult Services provides support to local people who are assessed as requiring services. The aim of this support is mainly focused on helping people remain independent and in their own homes where possible. Community meals is a key service in the range of Adult Social Care services which also include:
The meals service is available to those people who meet the eligibility criteria, following an assessment by a care manager. The assessment will include whether the hot meals service or the frozen delivery service is most suitable for your needs but generally the meals options are offered on the following basis.
The hot delivery service is Borough wide 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The frozen meals service offers a choice of over 30 alternative options and freezers and microwaves for storing and heating meals can be provided. Frozen meals give people the freedom to eat them at a time most suitable to their own needs.
We also provide meals to meet the needs of people with a range of medical and cultural needs. The meals we provide will meet high standards of quality and nutritional value. However if you have any complaints, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
We will continue to work in partnership with providers to maintain and improve the quality of community meals in the Borough. There is a daily charge for the meals service, which is reviewed annually. You will be advised of the charge as part of your assessment
