Care Alarms

Lifeline Alarms

The Lifeline Alarm system is run by Windsor and Maidenhead District Housing Association on behalf of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.  The systems provides support to people by giving them a link to help while maintaining their independence.  The system is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Lifeline is used by a wide range of individuals of all ages; from disabled people, to those who are ill, to elderly frail people.

How does it work?

When a user presses the remote alarm or the alarm on the lifeline telephone, they will be automatically put in touch with an operator at the 24 hour call centre.  The operator will arrange for appropriate help to come to the users assistance, be it neighbours, relatives, friends or the emergency services.

How much does it cost?

The Lifeline System costs from £2 per week to lease.  There is no installation cost.  The service may be free to residents in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead who are in receipt of housing benefit.  Individuals living in private accommodation may be able to apply for a grant from the Royal Borough to purchase a unit, if they are in receipt of Income Support, Family Credit, Rent Rebate or Council Tax Benefit.
