The Fostering Service Statement of Purpose
The Royal Borough Fostering, Adoption and Respite Service provides comprehensive fostering services for the whole Borough.
Our Statement of Purpose is: -
To provide quality substitute family care to children in need in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead
We provide information, support, supervision, counselling and development opportunities to all those involved in Fostering, Adoption and Respite and the wider Children and Families Service.
We Aim to Achieve this by: -
- Proactive recruitment of a wide range of potential carers representing the cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds in the local community.
- Assessment and training of potential carers to enable them to meet local and national standards of quality care.
- Provision of ongoing training and support by qualified and trained personnel. Regular reviewing and monitoring of competencies by qualified social workers and managers.
- Ensuring that each family or carer is allocated an appropriate social worker to supervise the care offered.
- Ensuring an appropriate member of staff is available each working day to answer queries and offer advice and support.
- Always listening to service users and respecting their views.
- Ensuring carers receive appropriate financial support and reviewing regularly.
- Promoting, valuing and respecting diversity in society and reflecting this in our work
