The Children with Disabilities Team

We aim to provide a variety of good quality services, which will enable the child to achieve the optimal independence. This will be achieved by supporting the child's family and carers. We aim to do this in partnership with health and education authorities, and the voluntary sector by recognising the child as a unique individual, who has additional long-term needs.

Who can access the service?

Children from birth to 18 years who have a disability, impairment or a special need that is permanent and substantial, with an impact on daily living.  The children must be residents of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

  • An Assessment of Need
  • Emotional support
  • Respite care / homecare support
  • Advice
  • Supported links to other agencies, such as health and education
  • Assistance on how to achieve daily tasks
  • Advice on necessary equipment
  • Adaptations to environment
