What we do

The Royal Borough is responsible for 750km of local roads, and the Council's Streetcare Team makes sure they are properly maintained and repaired.

Our responsibilities include:

  • Repairs and resurfacing of footways and roads
  • Maintaining street furniture
  • Gully maintenance
  • Overseeing utility company excavations
  • Removing graffiti
  • Street cleaning and litter collection
  • Emergencies such as floods and fallen trees
  • Obstructions on the highway
  • Public toilet cleaning
  • Car park cleaning
  • Litter and waste management
  • Removal of abandoned vehicles
