Safety Advisory Group

The Council recognises that whilst public events can enhance community life in the Royal Borough, there is potential for risks to public safety and adverse environmental effects posed by the numbers of people attending such events unless proper management is in place.

In recognition of this, a Safety Advisory Group (SAG) has been established, to co-ordinate the efforts of relevant Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead departments and all others involved with the running of events.

The Safety Advisory Group has a core membership (shown below). Other stakeholders will be included as necessary depending on the nature of the event:

  • Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead
  • Thames Valley Police
  • Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service
  • South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust
  • Other stakeholders

The Safety Advisory Group helps "promote the health, safety and welfare" of all those involved with public events.

If you are intending to hold an event (large or small), you should contact the Safety Advisory Group well in advance to discuss details.

The majority of Safety Advisory Group work is conducted electronically between agencies prior to the scheduled meetings. All submissions should be made by the online facility in the first instance to ensure a quick response.

The on-line form facility has an option to partially save it should you want to go back at a later stage to complete it, although this will need to be completed within two weeks. Agencies will not be able to review the form until you have submitted a completed version. For further details please see the notes on the on-line form.

SAG documents are included on this page for your assistance.
