What do I do when I hear a flood warning?
- Alert your neighbours, especially the elderly
- Put in any flood defence measures you have in place - but make sure your property is ventilated
- Be ready to turn off gas and electricity
- Co-operate with the emergency services and local authority - you may be evacuated to emergency centres
- Do as much as you can in daylight.
- Move pets, vehicles, valuables and other items to safety
