Get Active

The 'Get Active' programme has been developed to give young people aged 8-13 years extra support to reach their potential. It offers access to out-of-school provision and opportunities for young people. The programme also supports families to get involved in activities and trips together throughout the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.

The programme has been developed to include extra funding towards sport and activities that will have a significant impact on hard to reach young people. In general terms, it is for young people who are involved in little or no physical activity and their long-term health will suffer as a consequence.

The long-term goal is that each young person finds an activity they want to continue and can access on a regular basis and continue into adulthood.

Get Active runs regular activity sessions for 8-13 year olds through school term time and school holidays including club based activities, activity residentials and family days. Included in the sessions there are a range of activities such as sports and physical activities and arts and crafts.
