Sports Funding and Grants

This section includes information,various sources of funding that can be accessed by Sports Clubs or by individual sports people.  At the bottom of the page are leaflets and application forms for the RBWM Bursaries.

RBWM Sports Bursary Scheme (Individuals only)

The Sports Bursary Scheme has been established to acknowledge young sporting achievements and the contribution coaches make to their sport within the borough. Bursaries are awarded to participants and coaches in all sports, as recognised by Sport England. For further information please click on the attachment at the bottom of the page.  To apply for a bursary, the application is available at the bottom of this page or telephone the Sports Development Team on 01753 860173 for one to be posted to you.

RBWM Grants to Local Groups and Organisations (Sports Clubs Only)

Non-profit making voluntary organisations operating within the Royal Borough may apply for assistance with financing capital projects or running expenses. For more information or an application form contact Democratic Services on 01628 796310 or e-mail democratic.services@rbwm.gov.uk  

Awards for All (Sports Clubs Only)

 

This is a pot of lottery money for revenue funding. Sports Clubs can apply for funds between £500 - £5000. For more information visit the Awards for All website or telephone the Awards for All South-East office on 01483 462943.

Big Lottery Fund (Sports Clubs Only)

Sport England (Sports Clubs Only)

 

 

 

If you are interested in finding out whether your Sports Club may be eligible for a grant visit the Sport England Lottery Fund website or telephone Sport England on 08458 508 508 to discuss your idea.

 

Sportsmatch (Sports Clubs Only)

Sportsmatch is the Government's grassroots sports sponsorship incentive scheme. Any not-for-profit group can apply to Sportsmatch, who can match £ for £ commercial business sponsorship for a grassroots sporting event or activity. Sportsmatch acts as an incentive by offering to double the pot of money available from your sponsor on a £ for £ matching basis. Torch Trophy Trust/Commander Collins Bursaries

A Commander Collins Bursary is awarded to enable individuals or groups to enhance their knowledge in order to assist their club, organisation or community to develop their chosen sport. For further information please contact the Torch Trophy Trust on 0207 548 500.

Foundation for Sport and the Arts (Sports Clubs Only)

Set up by the football pools promoters, this body has around £60 million annually to donate to support sports and arts organisations. Grants have been given to a wide range of projects that benefit community sport. For further information please contact the Foundation for Sport and the Arts on 0151 259 5505.

Football Foundation (Sports Clubs Only)

The Football Foundation provides financial help for football at all levels, including grassroots development and using football as a tool within local communities. Visit the Football Foundation website to find details of the Trust's many grant opportunities or telephone the Trust on 0207 534 4210

Local Network Fund for Children and Young People

The Berkshire Community Foundation administer the Local Network Fund for Children and Young People grants, that support community-based projects which help children to undertake new experiences.

The Prince Philip Trust Fund

Funding is available for recreation facilities, training for young volunteers and cultural projects in the Windsor and Maidenhead area. For further information please contact the trust on 01753 851133.

The Peter Harrison Foundation

The Foundation gives grants to people with disabilities and people who are disadvantaged.  One of the programmes is 'Opportunities through Sport', for further information visit the Peter Harris Foundation Website or telephone them on 01737 228000.

Sportsaid (Individuals Only)

 

Sportsaid provides funding to talented young sports people to support training, travel and equipment costs. To view the criteria visit the SportsAid Website or telephone 0207 273 2975 for more information.

Ron Pickering Memorial Fund
