Theatre in Education

Road safety messages 'come to life' through theatre performances.Theatre Performance

We believe that it is important for pupils to really be aware of the importance of road safety. We see great value in theatre performances that can present this information in a fun, interactive and informative way. We particularly recommend that schools working towards a travel plan consider Theatre in Education.

The Council has funded performances for schools in the past and will continue to do so where possible.

In September 2008 the Road Safety Team will host the Louis Taylor Road Safety Roadshows for Key Stage One primary school and nursery pupils.

We have supporting resources for use after the performance which will help to support the messages given.

For more information contact: the Royal Borough's Road Safety Officer.

Safe Drive Stay Alive

In addition this year we will be supporting the Safe Drive Stay Alive initiative which is targeted at year 12 pupils accross the Borough.

Safe Drive Stay Alive is a hard hitting theatre project, which explores the circumstances and consequences of a road traffic collision.

We still have availability for year twelve groups to attend at the following venues

  • 4th - 5th November 2008 The Kings Centre Oxford
  • 6th - 7th November 2008 The Hexagon Reading
  • 10th - 11th November 2008 The Swan Theatre High Wycombe
  • 12th - 13th November 2008 MK Dons Football Stadium

The costs of student transport will be reimbursed by The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council Road Safety Section.
