The Registration Service will do everything we can to make your special day run as smoothly as possible - from your first enquiry to the ceremony itself. We want your special day to be as happy, as relaxed, and as memorable as possible.

Marriages of same sex couples

We are very pleased to announce that same sex marriages can take place from the 29 March 2014.

Same sex marriages & notice of intention

Those couples not in an existing legal relationship will be able to give notice of marriage (which is the legal process to apply for a licence for marriage) from Thursday 13 March 2014. The first same sex marriages will therefore be able to take place (after the usual waiting period) on Saturday 29 March 2014.
