South East Plan (May 2009)
The South East Plan sets out the regional vision for the period 2006-2026. The plan covers the key topics of housing, transport, employment and the environment, providing the strategic planning context for the county areas of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex.
The South East Plan was prepared for the government by the South East Plan Regional Assembly (SEERA) (now superseded by the South East England Partnership Board). Following submission to the government in March 2006, the plan was the subject of public consultation and independent examination. The report of the examination published its recommendations to the government in August 2007. The government published proposed changes in July 2008 and undertook further consultation.
On 6th May 2009, the government approved the South East Plan. The plan is available to download from the Government Office for the South East website at:

It now forms part of the development plan for the Royal Borough. The proposed housing numbers for borough remain unchanged from the government's proposed changed from the previous draft.
Partial Review of the South East Plan: Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople
The South East England Partnership Board has submitted to government their recommendations for amendments to Policy H7 of the South East Plan relating to the allocating the provision of new Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople accommodation to each local authority in the region. The submission triggers a period of consultation on the proposed amendments and supporting documents. Responses will go forward to the Examination.
