Statement of Community Involvement

One of the key objectives of the Local Development Framework (LDF) planning system is community involvement.  The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) commits the Council to a clear and consistent approach that actively involves people in planning and development.  By setting out how the community, including local residents, groups, businesses and organisations will be engaged in the planning process, the Council's decisions will be both effective and robust.

Following consultation and independent examination, the SCI was adopted on the 27 June 2006.  The SCI, and the associated adoption statement, can be viewed by clicking on the relevant link.

To ensure efficient and effective community involvement, it is essential that the Council is notified of people who wish to be consulted and that their details remain up-to-date.  To make sure you are kept in touch with the Local Development Framework (LDF), it is suggested that you keep a note to the important date, such as consultation periods, outlined in the Local Development Scheme (LDS).  You may also wish to register on the Council's consultation database.

While using the on-line consultation system it allows people to actively keep their details accurate, you may also notify the Council directly by e-mailing Planning.Policy@rbwm.gov.uk or by writing to:

Planning Policy Manager
RBWM Planning Service
Town Hall
St Ives Road
Maidenhead

The SCI contains a proforma which can be filled in and returned.  A copy can also be downloaded from the relevant link.
