Population Estimates

Population information for the Royal Borough comes from both the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and from the Berkshire Population Model, which is produced for the Berkshire Authorities by the Data Management and Analysis Group.

ONS figures are trend based projections, which means assumptions for future levels of births, deaths and migration are based on observed levels mainly over the previous five years. They show what the population will be if recent trends in these continue. The Berkshire Population Model figures are based on ONS data, plus annual net housing completions and forecasts supplied by the Unitary Authorities.

The most frequently requested population statistics are provided on these webpages. However if you require a more detailed breakdown of population statistics, please telephone: 01628 796066.
