Minerals and Waste

As unitary authorities, the responsibility for preparing minerals and waste policies in Berkshire is exercised by the six local authorities, through the Joint Strategic Planning Unit (JSPU).

The current Minerals and Waste Plans for Berkshire are:

• The Replacement Minerals Local Plan (Incorporating the Alterations Adopted in December 1997 and May 2001).
• The Waste Local Plan for Berkshire (adopted December 1998).

The JSPU is preparing a Joint Minerals and Waste LDF, which upon completion will replace the existing Minerals Local Plan and Waste Local Plan. For more information please visit the JSPU website.
