Local Development Framework - Frequently Asked Questions

The Local Development Framework or LDF is a planning system introduced by the Government in 2004 which is currently being implemented by the Council, and which will guide future development across the whole Borough.   The LDF will replace the existing policies in the Adopted Local Plan and will be made up of a number of documents which, although published at different times over the next few years, will eventually come together to form a single strategy for development.  When adopted, the LDF together with the Regional Spatial Strategy will form the statutory development plan for the Borough.  Further information can be obtained on the Council website.
