Green Belt Analysis

In preparing the Local Development Framework (LDF), the Council has to consider all reasonable ways of meeting the requirements for various development types such as housing and offices. As part of this process the Council are carrying out an analysis of how land within the Royal Borough contributes to achieving national Green Belt purposes. The Council was strongly advised of the need to do this work by a Government Inspector.

This analysis is part of a wider exercise of looking at development options with an emphasis upon the availability of land within settlements to deliver development.

The analysis will not seek to allocate land for development but will inform options for the delivery of development which will be discussed through the Core Strategy and Policies Development Plan Document.
