Monitoring has an important role within the planning system. Section 35 of the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires every local planning authority to produce an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR). This Report has to describe progress in implementing the Local Development Scheme (LDS) and the extent to which the policies set out in the Local Development Framework (LDF) are being achieved.
The AMR for the period 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2009 has now been produced, and was submitted to the Secretary of State in December 2009.
The AMR monitors the saved policies of the adopted Local Plan and adopted parts of the LDF for their effectiveness. The results can also help determine the wording of the replacement policies yet to emerge in the LDF.
The most recent AMR's are available to view or download below. Hard copies are available to purchase; please see Planning Policy Publications List for details. For any further information please contact Jennifer Heaton on 01628 796066.
The Berkshire Unitary Authorities also produce an annual Joint Berkshire Minerals and Waste Annual Monitoring Report, which is available for download from the Joint Strategic Planning Unit website.
