Planning Services Frequently Asked Questions

Pre-application advice for minor proposals by Householders and Small Businesses only.

A Duty Planning Officer will give pre-application advice through an "over the counter" service in both Windsor and in Maidenhead Customer Service Centre There is no charge for this advice if the inquiry relates to householders or small businesses.

A meeting with the Duty Officer will normally be limited to a maximum of 30 minutes. Should the advice sought be of a more substantive nature which cannot be dealt with in this way then a written request will need to be made. The Council will endeavour to respond to such written requests within 10 working days. Please refer to the pre-application advice document for more details.

You can also access the Planning Portal for advice. This is a website, operated by the Department for Communities and Local Government, which offers advice, easy-to-use tools and online services to help the general public and planning professionals.
