The Royal Borough's Strategic Plan, which also forms the annual Best Value Performance Plan, summarises how the Council has performed in 2006/2007, and explains our plans for improvement over the coming three years (2007-2010).
The Strategic Plan brings together a number of key documents, presents the Royal Borough's vision, core values and strategic priorities and provides a clear statement of the Council's contribution to the achievement of the ambitions laid out in the Community Strategy, which we produce with our partners.
The Plan is an opportunity to bring together, in one document, the numerous strategies, plans, partnership activities, priorities and targets that guide and influence the work of all those who provide Council services. It identifies key strategic aims and targets, with arrangements for performance monitoring and shows how all this links clearly to an annual integrated cycle of priority and budget planning. As such, it acts as an umbrella document for all the Council's services.
At the heart of the Strategic Plan and underpinning all our other plans and actions, is our key aim of providing the best possible services to local communities.
