Ambition Groups - Community Partnership

Role and Objectives

Purpose

Four Ambition Groups have now been established and they will strive to achieve the given aims and objectives of the key themes and guiding principles in the Community Strategy, and for this purpose will be accountable to the Local Strategic Partnership of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

Ambition Groups

The Ambition Groups will tackle the four key themes of the Partnership.

  • Supporting Children & Younger People - Children's Trust; Early Intervention; Children & Adolescent Mental Health Service; Safeguarding; Transition; Achievement; Enjoyment; Inclusion; Targeting; Parenting; Participation; Information, Advice & Guidance; Vocational Options; Play & Recreation
  • Supporting Adults & Older People - To promote the health and well being of adults and develop services that respect older people's independence whilst at the same time ensuring services are in place that prevents an individual from deteriorating; Care to be provided as close to the service user's home as is safe and effective and services should promote independence, focus on keeping people well, and maximise recovery; A one stop approach to be adopted whenever possible for the convenience of service users; Transfers between different care settings will aim to accord with the needs of the service user, and be kept to a minimum whenever possible; Services should not only be viable and affordable but also effective, accessible, responsive, non-discriminatory, and provided in line with the Fair Access to Care standards; Services will address specific local issues and be planned to meet local needs however, where scale would compromise service integrity, services could be shared across a wider area to ensure optimum efficacy; Through positive partnerships improve the health and the provision of health and care services to the local population within available resources; Ensure services are sensitive to local needs by involving the public in their planning and implementation; Ensure improved services by developing the current and future workforce.
  • A Thriving, Cleaner, Greener Borough - Improve the appearance of the Borough; Manage our infrastructure more effectively; Promote sustainable lifestyles and protect the environment; Protect the public; Support our residents to achieve their economic potential
  • Safer & Stronger Communities - Reducing crime, Reassuring the public and reducing the fear of crime, Reducing the harm caused by illegal drugs, Reducing the harm caused by alcohol, Building respect in communities and reducing anti-social behaviour, Empowering local people to have a greater choice and influence over local decision-making and a greater role in public service delivery, Cleaner, greener and safer public spaces, Increasing domestic fire safety and reducing arson.
