The Plan builds on the significant progress made through our Children and Young People's Plan 2008-11. It sets out the vision and priorities of the RBWM Children and Young People's Partnership for the next three years and the key pieces of work that will need to be undertaken to deliver these priorities. An annual action plan sets out in detail how we are going to accomplish this.
It does not include everything we will be doing, but concentrates on the priorities and actions which we believe will make the biggest difference to children and young people in the Royal Borough. It focuses on major developments and shared strategic priorities that relate to the particular needs of vulnerable children, and to areas where outcomes for all children and young people are underperforming.
The experiences and opportunities that children and young people have will shape their lives. Listening to and acting on what our children and young people have told us is central to the planning and delivery of services in the Royal Borough.
We have identified 5 key priorities which we believe reflect the needs of the local community. By focusing our efforts on these priorities we can be sure that resources will be used most effectively and will be targeted towards those children, young people and families who are most in need.
To ensure a coordinated and cohesive approach to the way we work, this Plan encompasses three important local strategies: our Early Intervention and Prevention Strategy; the statutory Child Poverty Strategy and our Children and Young People's Workforce Development Strategy.
The PPCYP is driven forward by RBWM's Children and Young People's Partnership. The Plan is underpinned by a detailed yearly action plan, which is monitored regularly through the Strategic Board and implemented through Priority Groups in each of the five identified priority areas. An annual review of the progress of the PPCYP takes place in each year of the lifespan of the Plan to ensure we are meeting our objectives.
