Consultation Results

Vansittart Recreation Ground 10-year master planning

In October 2010 the first stage of consultation was carried out to obtain initial thoughts and ideas for the development of a 10 year master plan for Vansittart Recreation Ground. A questionnaire was developed with a concept master plan to encourage and inspire the community's ideas and views. This questionnaire was mail dropped to households within a half mile radius of the Recreation Ground, was available to complete on the Borough's webpage and local residents and park users had the opportunity to have a discussion and/or fill out a questionnaire onsite with a Council Officer between 12 noon to 4pm on Saturday 9th October 2010.

The purpose of the consultation was to determine the local community and Recreation Ground user's needs and priorities to assist with the creation of an initial master plan. The initial master plan would then be developed further alongside the local community to create a final master plan which will act as a key guidance document for any future improvements when funding may become available. This is to ensure any expenditure is in accordance with the community needs and the developments are scheduled in a program of works that obtains 'value for money'. The first stage of consultation was also an excellent opportunity to create a user group to allow interested community members to be involved with any developments and the day to day running of the Vansittart Recreation Ground.
